A feature article

It’s not that easy to be a writer (news writer, feature writer, scriptwriter, etc.), I guess it’s a given talent that one should have for him or her be able to write a good and superb article. One should also be fluent in English or must be creative. It was during last semester that I learnt how to write such news article, feature article, editorial article and scripts. All of that was because of my dearest professor in Print Media, Ms. Liwayway Arce. She taught us a lot of things with regard in writing an article and scripts. She taught us how to write a good lead, how to insert quotations, how to end our article in a good way, how to insert camera movements in scripts and such. So let me now share what I’ve done during her class. It’s a feature article about Chin-Chin Gutierrez, an environmentalist and actress in Philippines. Aside from being a talented bankable actress, commercial model, a poet, a painter and an independent record producer and singer, Chin-Chin Gutierrez, a woman with a classic beauty is also known as an environmentalist. Chin-Chin was invited by Mother Earth Foundation to host a concert for the environment, six years ago. This environmental activity opened the eyes of Chin-Chin to the world of appreciating what the Creato Because of her love of nature, she produced her independent recording project, Uyayi: A Collection of Philippine Lullabies. With the help of the National Commission for Culture and Arts and the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples, she accomplished this independent recording project. Chin-Chin was also featured on the cover of Time Magazine last April 2003 which honored the actress-environmentalist as one of the Asian Heroes because of her environmentalist crusade. She also obtained the 2004 The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) award for her dedicated and whole-hearted work in environmental protection. Chin-Chin still continues to encourage her fellow Filipino citizens to remember and thank the Creator for what He has made for us.
