April 8, 2008Baptism is one of the sacraments of Christian initiation. It is merely defined as the sacraments that give our souls the new life of sanctifying grace by which we become children of God. It is also a gateway to the sacraments and necessary for salvation. The sacramental grace of baptism is a regenerative grace that helps those baptized to live well the supernatural life they have begun as children of God. The effects of it are reborn as children of God, configuration to Christ and incorporation into the Church. Its matter is water which its natural meaning is for cleansing and it is ministered by the bishop, priest or a deacon.
I had attended the baptismal of Baby Phetha Rose, daughter of my former high school teacher, Mrs. Abang. It was held last April 06, 2008 at St. Joseph Parish in Quezon City. My former teacher invited me to come and be a god-mother to her Unica Hija. Actually, I considered it as a first time for me because I was really child then when I experienced that kind of thing and now I am a grown up (somehow) and I can understand the responsibilities of being a “god mother”. During the mass, the speaker described the responsibilities of it and it’s not an easy task because as a god-mother we should help the mother and father of the child on guiding her. I guess, I could help in the near future, whether they need it or not
After the ceremony, next stop was held in Jollibee (beside of the church). I kind of did not enjoy the party because I know no one there (Of course aside from my teacher, her husband and kids) and I feel out-of-place. I went there all by myself and I was waiting for Emma to arrive but unfortunately she arrived late. She was with her brother Vlad who is my friend also. After then we went to Ever to gallivant and window shopping too. I bought a nail polish which is neon violet and a black one. So if ever boredom strikes, I have something to do aside from blogging and watching dvd
What do you think?
I went home with something to give for my two brothers. I think I love them more now
and that is really nice.
Oh, now I realized that even when I’m in a crowded place without anyone I know, I can still mingle a bit but I still want to be with anyone I know wherever I go. No man is an island, isn’t?
